Glad too have an opritunity too make our first vist of this year ! Should be ariving Sat 6-6-09 But we go to the north ( National Sea Shore ) part of South
Padre Island . The large part North of the Mansfield .Usually staying in one of the nice RV parks on the island . We drive down ever day in our Gold Jeep we
tow . Down some place on the National Sea Shore far enough down till there is little or no passerbys or people too disturb us . Most times about 17 mi down
the 4+4 part .We Like company of other nudist but we are an old couple . Gold Jeep tow bar hook up bracket on the front most times with a orange flag on the

Very poor driving conditions on the beach . A great deal of powder dry sand and when tyed was out beach was very bumpy. Weather was great but the 4+4 driving
part was busy . Lots of Rangers and border patrol crusing and of course the "no problem" turtle patrol .
On Sunday we figured out why so many cops etc. Every first Sunday of June is Splash day for the Gay Pride people. So we figure that a lot of the croud was them wating for the event too start! The cops, and there were plenty, said they expected 10k = 20k there we saw part Sunday on our way down the Kleeberg County about 4 mi short of the Federal land . And there were about 3,000 there at about 9:00 Sunday and ariving bumper too bumper . Over all it was nice too be nude on the beach a little .But not our best time at all . We saw no one down there looking like nudist . This old couple may just have too stick too our faclities in the county here at home and alone from now on . JimLubTx |

Sorry 'bout your timing for your trip but thanks for the heads up on the "1st Sunday" crowds. We had Splash Days here at Hippie Hollow but
nothing like the numbers you mentioned on the island! My wife and I pledged never to go on a weekend to the So. Padre COB cause of the bumper to bumper going
nowhere traffic at the entrances. Couldn't go around cause of the crowds in the water and the cars parked liked sardines on the beach. This is only for the
first 2, 3 or four miles north of entrance 5 then it's ok all the way up to the cut. This week-end is the ROT Rallye in Austin (Republic of Texas
Motorcycle Rallye) thousands of bikers in town so Hippie Hollow will be rockin' and rollin'. No, I will not go till after the week-end. We leave for
the Valley week-end after this one and will be on the COB on the 23-24. I will report back.
