2/2 Condo available. Basically my customers that were going fishing with me cancelled at the last minute, and I found out this is Spring Break time so I figured some college students might be interested in the extra room March 11-15 for only $100 a night, $400 total for 2-3 spring breakers. The extra room has 2 beds, there is a pull out in the living. Full kitchen, dishes, two full baths, hot tub, pool, right on the beach, 4 minutes from everything on the island. I will be working or fishing...

Hey all, I have never driven down using highway 77, but i might this year.

Is it usally loaded with cops down 77, Should i take Highway 281 instead?

If anyone has driven down both that would help. I have only used 281.

I know the rooms and facilities are older, but the beach looks nice and it is a great location IMO. Any advice would be great!

What will Bahia Mar be like this spring break? We are thinking of booking a condo there but can't find much info on it. I stayed there a few years ago and had a blast. Do they still host parties on site? When I was there they had wet t-shirt concerts by the front pool and some concerts on the deck by the beach. Any input?

Mexico Trips from South Padre

We are not doing them for two very simple reasons.

1.) Violence. The violence in Mexico has escalated to a point where we are not comfortable bringing people to Matamorros anymore. Same goes with Reynosa (way worse there). The violence surrounds drug traffics not tourists...but the possiblity of collarteral assault our Company will not risk anymore, it's just not safe.

I went to college for a stint in Mexico City - I'm fairly confident with my Spanish, with Mexico in general,...

Tequila Frogs is opening, I have a post just about this. Yes, we have a few parties there. This is a bad ass club, and good news. They are rumbling about bringing back their Wednesday day party, if I hear what they are doing with that I'll yell.

Our opening party for spring break is February 22nd on Friday with Inertia Tours.

Yes, this club has a new leasor (owner) - a really cool guy from Mcallen that owns several other successful bars/nightclubs there. Expect key venue changes, much improved sound & lighting, and a really fun staff from what I've met.

I personally think this is great news for the Island for entertainment on spring break - the venerable Tequila Frogs is back!

Holiday Inn Express?

Three of my buddies and I are making some last minute plans to head down from Pittsburgh, PA for our first visit to SPI. We're planning on staying March 9-16th.

It's looking like the Holiday Inn Express has the best rates for that week but I haven't been able to find out how spring break friendly they are or any reviews. Anybody have an experiences there or suggestions?

We're not too worried about size or even quality, for that matter, mostly just with being able to party...

Alright this always happens last minute but I am glad I know about it sooner. Two peeps backed out for a trip to Cancun so we need 2 Roomies to fill two spots in our hotel at the Howard Johnson "aka" HOJO. 5 Nights starting Monday March the 9th through the 15th. Here is what I've learned from 05-07 being in Padre during Texas Week about hotels.....

1. Most will require a hefty damage deposit. But as long as no furniture is damaged or missing from your room you will get it back at checkout.

2. The dreaded wristband policy, most hotels will give you a colored wristband which designates that you have a room at that particular hotel. Some are very strict no wristbands, no coming inside the hotel.
